Well, dudes, let the adventure begin!
Mike sent me to SLC in the mail a couple of weeks ago. So far, this alone has been an awesome change in scenery for me. Normally I hang out--24/7--on a desk at the Zappos offices. I mean, don't get me wrong; that place has some pretty wild people and there really isn't a dull moment. But, a hippy duck can only stand to be in one place for so long.
Like I said, Salt Lake has been pretty rad so far. Except for one thing:
This little kid is CRAZY! Mike has pictures of this kid, and others, all over his desk, but he's never mentioned how trippy this kid is. On this day, his dad made him a helmet out of an old, unused lasagna tin. Then this kid is, like, running around with this tin hat on being all insane. I was like, whoa, kid, calm down. And, this kid has taken some crazy liking to me, always carrying me around saying, "My ducky." His mom, Lauren, has been good to correct him..."No, that's Grandpa Mike's ducky." He's cute, but I'll sure be glad when the real vacation begins.
Mike got this brilliant idea to send me to his daughter, Lauren, so that I could go on a vacation to Scotland with her and her husband, Ben. When I first heard this, I thought Far out! I found out we'll be traveling through New York City then to London and then off to Scotland. So, I've got my waterproof bell-bottoms packed, a new pair of Birkenstocks, and my ducky passport...I'm ready to go!
If all goes well, I'll be able to post some pictures and updates on our adventures through the land of Scots! We head out on Wednesday at 11:30pm and will spend the next day in New York before getting on the plane again bound for London.
